INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY – LAYER MANAGER

The Production Layer Manager leads all functions in layer operations to producing safe, quality eggs at their site. The Production Layer Manager is responsible for understanding, communicating, and implementing company standards. This role is responsible for managing a team of approximately 15 employees.
Below are the responsibilities of a Layer Manager. You will get the opportunity to observe, ask questions, and perform the following:

Review production data with team and develop action items to improve performance

Develop and drive site results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; and coaching employees

Effectively communicate with employees across the organization to collaborate on company goals and standards

Journeyman Electrician
Job Summary
Seeking a Journeyman Electrician with industrial troubleshooting experience to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, and equipment using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Communicate with contractors, ensuring project scope and timeline is maintained.
- Local travel to various farm sites depending on project necessity.
Skills and Knowledge
- Journeyman electrical license in the State of Minnesota.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to identify a problem and deal with it critically.
- Strong mechanical, analytical, and solution driven skills.
- Ability to schedule and balance priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication ability.
- Must be able to use basic tools and machinery.
- Experience with 3 phase, 480 volt, 24 volt dc control systems, and wearing proper PPE.
- Experience in commercial/industrial automation, PLC programming/controls, and system networking.
- Able to work later hours (after normal production) including some nights and weekends as needed.
License/Certification:
- Electrical Journeyman’s License (Required)

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of production and processing equipment while striving to ensure work is performed to company and customer standards with considerations to business strategy, costs, and timing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide robust mechanical design of equipment and components using SolidWorks.
- Prepare detailed drawings and bill of materials for the fabrication and assembly of equipment.
- Prepare detailed floor layouts and facilities requirements.
- Provide FEA analysis of assemblies and sub-components.
- Provide analysis of automation components including drive systems.
- Key contributor to development of enterprise business systems strategies (ERP, PDM, etc)
- Interface with manufacturing to support product assembly, testing, troubleshooting and installation.
- Interface with project management and/or lead projects to ensure projects meet schedule and delivery requirements.
- Prepare and participate in internal design reviews.
- Collaborate to develop innovative solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Skilled at 3D modeling and detail drawing (SolidWorks preferred).
- Ability to perform mechanical analysis using FEA and hand calculations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques including machining, sheet metal, and welding fabrication.
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work with cross functional groups and take lead when necessary.
- Adaptable to rapidly changing environment.
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

The Barn Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of pullet barn operations.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and monitor schedules for lighting, feed, watering, and ventilation within pullet barn
- Schedule bird vaccinations and manure clearing
- Communicate with farm manager on a regular basis
- Conduct performance reviews for employees
Qualifications:
- Strong written and oral communication
- Leadership experience
- Able to work autonomously and with little direct supervision
- Reliable and keen eye for detail

The Load Out Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient loading of liquid product into tanker trucks to be hauled away.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness of the bay areas
- Communicate with drivers, loader and breaker operators, and assist on the breaker machines as needed
- Move tankers in and out of bays
- Drive yard dogs as needed
- Record documentation for eggs in silos using software programs such as MS Word and Business Central
- Keep work area clean, follow GMP, follow safety protocol, and wear appropriate PPE
- Other duties as assigned
